Ricky Martin was born on December 24th, 1971. He was Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. His parents, Enrique III, a psychologist, and Nereida Morales, an accountant, got divorced when Ricky was 2 years old. Martin has two maternal half-brothers, Fernando and Ángel Fernández, and two paternal half-brothers, Eric and Daniel Martín, and a paternal half-sister Vanessa Martín. -
Acting Career
Ricky Martin began his acting career at the age of six. After discovering a newspaper advertisement about auditions for commercials with his father, nine-year-old Martin began appearing in Puerto Rican television commercials for products such as soft drinks, toothpaste, and fast-food restaurants. In a year and a half, he starred in eleven commercials. -
Muendo
As a teenager Ricky Martin auditioned for Muendo three times before landing a spot on the team. Muendo was a an all boy group. As the boys in the group would turn eighteen, they would find new young boys. -
Ending of Menudo
As Ricky reached the age of eighteen his time in the group called Menudo, was up. Ricky then went back to Puerto Rico just intime to complete highschool. He then moved to New york to persue a solo acting and singign career. -
American Debut
Ricky moved to Los Angeles, where he made his American actting career by being a guest on the soap opera "General Hospital". He later he starred in the Broadway production of Les Miserables. -
Growing Fame
At the Grammy Awards in February 1999, Martin, already a global pop sensation, gave a sizzling performance of "La Copa de la Vida" at Los Angeles's Shrine Auditorium just before picking up an award for Best Latin Pop Performance for Vuelve. He followed that star-making Grammy night with the release of his phenomenally successful first English single, "Livin' La Vida Loca." His album Ricky Martin debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard chart. -

Back in the world of work, the singer will release his 12th studio album in February 2011, 20 years after he launched his solo career with his first record. Ever the versatile performer, Ricky Martin is said to be appearing as Ché in the Broadway reworking of ‘Evita’, set to open in spring 2012
