Matteo Escapes
Matt sees children outside his small shack in the meadows, he then jumps through the glass window in his house so he can go play with the, as the doors were all locked. He gets badly cut and must be taken to the Alacrán Estate. -
He realizes he's a clone
As he is being bandaged, his doctor reveals that he is a clone, but Matt doesn't know what a clone is. The maids that were bandaging him had thrown him outside into the yard to die. They then realize he is the clone of Él Patrón, the vicious ruler of the country of Opium, thus bringing him back inside the Estate. -
Matteo is Released
Matt was discovered to be in a dark room in unhealthy conditions, kept there by a single maid who treated him very badly. -
Meeting Él Patrón
Matt finally meets the man whom he was cloned from, and from then on he is treated his the upmost respect, but only so people don't anger Él Patrón. -

Middle years of Matteo Alacrán

Meeting Tam Lin
Tam Lin is assigned to Matt to be his personal bodyguard. Matt loves Tam Lin because he allows him to dangerous things that he isn't normally allowed to do, such as climb mountains and swim in lakes, or ride horses and hike. -
The Real Clones
Tom, Matt's arch nemesis, decides to take Matt and Maria, the girl Matt likes, to the nearby hospital. The hospital houses clones that are set to be used for transplants. These clones are completely braindead, and are what could have been of Matt. Maria becomes terrified of Matt, and Tom is sent to a boarding school for a year due to his actions. -

The escape
Shortly after a mild heart attack suffered by El Patron, Matteo's heart is wanted. With the help of Celia and Tam Lin, Matteo is able to escape, but not for long -
Captured
After a few days in the desert, Matteo makes it to the Opium-Aztlan border. Sadly for him, he is found by border guards. He is kept safe, but then is told he would be transferred to a plankton factory, just outside the covenant where Maria is staying. -
The Plankton Factory
Matteo is stuck in a factory where they are only given Plankton to eat, and the workers are abusive to the children. They have to recite rules and it is a communist state. Luckily, Matt gets his buddies Ton-Ton, Fidelito, and Chacho to escape with him. -
The Factory Escape
Matteo, Ton-Ton, Chacho, and Fidelito escape from the prison that is the Plankton Factory. They all get stuck in a deep hole that nearly kills them, but Ton-Ton and Fidelito are able to escape, they throw a coup at the Factory, and come back to save Chacho and Matteo. -
Meeting Maria
After a few days of travelling, Matteo is finally reunited with Maria at the covenant in her new town. Matteo realizes everyone that was in Opium had been poisoned by El Patron as the wine given at his funeral was poisoned. Matteo decides to separate the borders between the U.S.A. and Aztlan.
