Born in Havana, Cuba. The youngest of 4 children. 2 brothers and 1 sister. -
Revolution in the Cuban government
President Batista was in power but coo was looming to get Fidel Castro into power -
Began to rebel against Castro
Everybody in Cuba knew that a revolution was coming and they decided whether they wanted to side with Castro or against him. -
Rebellion
As a way to rebel he contaminated the water supply that feeds into the government buildings where Castro, his brothers, and government officials where they worked. -
Communication with others
Starts communication with groups of Cubans against Castro. -
Thrown in Prison
He was put into jail as a political prisoner speaking out against Castro. -
The Escape
He escaped prison and was able to hide out in the Mountains where no one was able to find him. -
Left Cuba by boat
He was in a 22ft boat with 52 people, some were lost at sea. They either drowned or were eaten by sharks. -
Arrived in the US
He arrived in Key West, Florida and was rescued by the Coast Guard. -
Joined US Air Force
He decided to join the air force and moved to Texas. -
Started a company
He began to start a ceramic tile company where he represented various companies in Italy. -
Marriage
Married Gloria Saladrigas in Miami. -
Had his first kid
He had his first child, a daughter. Patricia Silva. -
Began to seek other ceramic lines to represent
Started traveling to Italy, Spain and most of Europe to find other possible ceramic companies to represent in Miami. -
Had his second child
Had his second daughter. Judy- Anne Silva(my mom). -
Had his 3rd Kid
Had a son, Christopher Silva. -
Bought his dream car
He purchased a Ferrari which had been his dream car since he was a little kid. -
Divorce
He divorced Gloria Saladrigas after 16 years of marriage -
Created a Golf club
Formed a group of men to open a gulf club on Miami Beach -

He takes home an award
He was awarded with the Cuban man of the year in Miami. -
Started representing new ceramic lines
He started representing 2 new lines of ceramics and began traveling to Prague. -
Diagnosed with cancer
He was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer and was given 5 years to live. -
Had "whipple" surgery
He has surgery for his cancer. -
Moved to Boston
He came and lived with us so that we would be able to take care of him for his final years -
Watched Super bowl 49
Able to watch super bowl 49 with him. -
Passed away from cancer
He passed away due to his cancer, he had lived longer than what the doctors had expected.
