Lewis Carroll or known by his real name Charles Dodgson was born in Northern England. Later he grew up to attend a renowned college Oxford University that would excel his ability as a writer.

Carroll, also known as Dodgson graduates from Oxford University and becomes a deacon for his church. His major being mathematics he still focused and wrote about his studies and findings.

Carroll first invents the character Alice, while on a boating trip with his friends daughter Alice Carroll. Many characters he made have been inspired by people he met in real life, Alice being one of them.

Carroll started a manuscript November 13th, 1862. This was to be one of his greatest novels and what led him to fame.

Carroll had his first to be hit novel "Alice's Adventures In Wonderland" published July, 1865. Fifty copies were made when he recalled them because he didn't like the way the images looked.

Carroll published his 2nd edition of the book. He thought this book was perfect and that he wasn't dissatisified with the images this time.

Carrolls father died in 1868 and which led him into a depression. For the next few years little was written or started until 1871.

Carroll began writing the sequel to "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" in 1869 "Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found". This book was also inspired by another person whom he knew in real life, Alice Raikes.

Carroll published the sequel Christmast 1871, although not as popular the book was still well recieved and major event in the authors history.

Carroll resigns from his job as a lecturer to focus on publishing. He goes on to publish many more poems and books.

Throughout the 1890's Carroll made major revisions to both his books "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and the sequel "Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found."

Carroll dies in 1898 after a long and fulfilling life. His books live on and become many famous classics.
