Leonardo da Vinci was born on April 15th, 1452 in Anachiano, near Vinci Tuscany. His parents were Piero Fruosino di Antonio da Vinci and Caterina da Vinci. Leonardo grew up to be one of the best known artists, he also was skilled in the areas of architecture, science, music, anatomy, literature, astronomy, history and many more areas. The Ōnin War was a Japanese civil war that lasted close to 11 years. It was a small dispute between two factions that escalated into a nationwide war involving a number of regions in Japan. In the 1480's Leonardo's interest in scientific studies started to grow. He began to assemble a small library filled with books. He studied areas such as light, color, perspective, optics, dynamics, and statistics. He made substantial discoveries in anatomy, civil engineering, geology, optics, and hydrodynamics.
