Ole Kirk Christiansen created the first legos in his work shop. He later named is creations legos and made the lego company. He was born to a poor family and his only escape form reality was to build, so he eventually created the lego we know today.

His son at 17 started to create new toys. He created things like toy wooden trucks. He created many other things as we went along to help boost his fathers brand and creativity.

Christiansen ordered a plastic molding and melting machine from France. He had no real use for it at the time, but he knew it would be useful. He had it sitting in his work shop for about 3 years until he came up with the idea to create legos.

Christiansen saw the potential after years of unsuccessful creations of wooden toys. With the advent of new plastic and new better molds he started to create the basic version of the basic brick we have today.

He had created lego now he had to sell it, he put it out on the market as the automatic Binding bricks. They sold very poorly at the start but grew and slow and steady revenue stream.

The iconic name was finally set in motion. The name was engraved on every lego brick and they also expanded into more colors. This basic creation of legos is still seen today.

Lego had changed its marketing strategy of creating quantity over quality. They would change there slogan to 'the more you have the more you can play and build.' This boosted sales due to kids.

Godtfred had taken over the company from his father.He made himself the new manufacture and made some small changes to the lego by getting rid of the the little slits of the side of the lego.

Lego was the first company created in Denmark to expand its sales outside of it. This is because Godtfred took over and expanded the marker into Germany.

Lego has a huge fire in the wooden toy warehouse. This burns all the toys. This causes them to discontinue there wooden toy market and focus souly only the plastic bricks

Lego had just created its first set of ten characters to make it appeal more to girls and there obsession with barbie. This helped boost sells a lot with the connection to girls.

Lego started putting instruction manuals in there sets. This helped many who were put off by the free building style by giving them direction on how to build things.

Lego launches lego land. This move was to build on the overwhelming hype of the legos coming out at the time. This brought lego lots of money as adult who were uninterested with legos payed to get on the park.

Lego created a branch company called duplo that made legos bigger and more expensive. This was made for the worried parents who worried about there children chocking on lego bricks.

The lego company comes to America and leaves Denmark. They did this as it helped them connect with the biggest consumer base at the time. This made them seem like an American based company.
