    Who was Involved: Homer Plessy & Judge John H. Ferguson
    Who it impacted: Africans Americans and anyone who had an ounce of African heritage.
    At the time Louisiana had a law that stated that "white and colored races" would have "equal but separate accommodations" on their railroads. This case asked if the state law was in violation of the 13th and 14th Amendments.

    Who was Involved: Linda Brown, Thurgood Marshall and The Topeka Board of Education
    Who it Impacted: African Americans throughout the US. This case not only overturned the Plessy case, but started the process of desegregation.

    This insured that students of lower to middle income families would be able to afford a higher education

    Who was Involved: President Gerald Ford
    Who it Impacted: Children with disabilities and their families, schools, and teachers.
    Ensured that children with disablities were given the same education as those without.
  • Vocational Education Act of 1963 Education Amendement of 1976

    Ensured that vocational schools would no longer be allowed to sexually discriminate or stereotype students.
  • Plyler v. Doe

    Who was Involved: James Plyler, Superintendent of Public School of Tyler, TX & "J. & R. Doe", two undocumented immigrants who wanted to be anonymous
    Who it Impacted: Undocumented Immigrants and schools
    This case looked into if Texas was violating the 14th Amendment by denying free public education to undocumented school-aged kids and charging them $1,000 for tuition.
