  • Brown V. Board of Education

    The case was Oliver Brown against the Board of Education in Topeka, Kansas after they denied his daughter entrance into an all white school. Brown vs. the Board education was the pinpoint to end racial segregation in public schools.   • Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (EASA)

    This Act revolved around the inequality in education for underprivileged kids. Since it was passed, schools that served under privileged students would receive federal funds to provide the with the necessary source of funding.   • PARC and Mils

    The Pennsylvania Association for Retarded Children sued the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for denying students an education if they had not attained a mental age of five. states began to realize that there were millions of students who were living with a disability that were not receiving any educational services.   • Public Law 94-142 (IDEA)

    IDEA stands for the Individuals with Disabilities Act. It states that eligible children with disabilities are ensured a special education and services to meet their needs.
