    LA was the birth place of jazz. Buddy Bolden and his band recorded the first jazz racord here it was called Livery Stable Blues.

    The economy went down in the south. Farmers prices declined greatly. Cotten and suger dropped five cens a pound.
  • Huey Long

    Huey Long
    Long was elected Govenor of LA in 1928. Rich people didnt like Long because he gave the poor jobs some people tried to get him out of office. He got a progam started to give evey student in a La school free text books. He also got anothe grogram started in getting roads, bridges, hos[itals, and educational institutions. He also helped et LSU in to one of the best schools in the south. Long was assassinated in 1935 he was shot in the capital building and he died two days later at age 42.

    The New Orleans Saints first game was September 17, 1967. They played in Tulane Stadium with 80,879 people there. On the first opening kick off rookie running back John Gilliam returned the kick for a 94 yard touchdown. They lost the game to the Los Angles Rams. They did win a game till November. There record was 3-11.

    The Jazz were not a very good team. There best player was Pete Maravich he was a star he put on a show ever night win or lose. They didnt win there first game until November 10 against the Portland Trail Blazers by one point. They wen through coaches this season.But just winning 6 games. They got it together at the end of the season winning 17-15. There record is one of the wosrt in NBA history 23-59.

    The Hornets replaced the Jazz 30 after they left for Utah. They had a good season winning 47-35. They went in to the playoffs Brain Davis one of there best players injured his back. The Hornets were down 3-1 in the series they came back to force a game 6 but lost. Brain Davis not being a 100% really hurt the team.

    The Saints had a 13-0 winning streak in the 2009 season. They went on and got home feild advantage for the playoffs. They beat the Cardnals for the first round. They needed to beat the Vikings to go to the superbowl. The saints win the game with no time on the clock witha game winning feild goal. They went on to play the Colts in the superbowl with a huge win. Beating Paton Manning 31-17.

    The BP oil spill is the largest in marine oil spill histroy. There was a huge explosion 126 of the workers got away safly there was 11 missing workers. They where able to cap the well stopping the flow of the oil for 86 days. The oil cover 28,958 square miles about the size of North Carolina. Wildlife was effected by the oil no one could fish there and people who fished for there work couldnt work. All the animals lost there home or died.
