They quickly began a relationship because of Millard's eagerness to learn and life of poverty mirrored Abigail's experience's. They soon study together on subjects that they both lacked knowledge in. And found a lot in common bring them together.

    Millard Powers Fillmore was born to Abigail and Millard Fillmore on April 25, 1828. Millard Powers ended up growing up to be a lawyer just like his father was. Powers went to Harvard to study law. When he was just 22 years old he served as his father's personal secretary in the White House.

    Mary Abigail Fillmore was born on March 27, 1832. Once her father was sworn into presidency Mary played an important role she stepped in for her very sick mother. Mary was a hostess for the White House. She would stand there for hours every Friday night greeting guest as they came in. Mary was a musician she played the guitar, piano, and the harp. Mary was very smart she could speak French fluently and speak Spanish, German, and Italian very well.

CALIFORNIA admitted to Union as a free state. FUGITIVE SLAVE ACT required all slaves to be returned to there "owners" and that people who helped be fined or imprisoned. UTAH ACT which opened Utah to slavery. BANS SLAVE TRADE IN THE DISTRICT OF COLOMBIA.

    The Lopez Expedition was attempted to invade and seize control of Cuba which was then part of the Spanish Empire. 420 Cuban people and American volunteers signed up to go on this mission. They were later defeated by the Spanish Empire most then were executed.

    Millard Fillmore died March 8, 1874, at the age of 74. Millard died in his Niagara Square Mansion after suffering a second stroke. He was then buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery Buffalo, New York.
