At this point in the war, the Chinese Communists advanced and forced the Americans back to the South Korean Capital of Seoul.

President Truman removed General MacArthur from the Korean War and replaced him with General Ridgway due to disagreements over what to do in the war.

During this time span, there were truce talks, however the fighting still continued.

After a great deal of conflict, the Allies and the North Koreans agree to create an armistice in which no military buildup would be allowed.
