    Tsars ruled Russia for hundreds of years and they were absolute rulers. In early 1900's Russians grew unhappy with their goverment and the hardships of ther war. In 1917 a revolution forced Nicholas II to give up his throne.

    TRENCH WARFARE
    The Trench Warfare was when they would build trenches to protect themselves from the fast bullets of machine guns. The trenches were used to hide in during the war. By the wars end each side dug atleast 12,000 miles worth of trenches. On the German trench was much different. They constructed sophisticated tunnel trenches.

    America during the Depression was a very hard life to live. After being very wealthy they lived in Hoovervilles, which are houses made out of garbadge. Men ate at soup kitchens because they gave their meals up to their family. It was very hard to find work, so many were jobless and homless. This all happened becuase the stock market collapsed.

    Hoovervilles were places where homeless people could go to stay. They were not very nice. They were little shacks.The city didn't approve of them because most of the hoovervilles were on private property. Hoovervilles are named after president Hoover.

    The Cold War ends with the collapse of communism in the Soviet Union. Communism ended when Eastern Europeans and Soviet citizens demanded reforms. It also ended because capitolism produced more wealth and communism couldn't compete. After the communist goverment fell the Soviet Union broke into several independant nations, the largest one being Russia.
