Birth
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was born in Newyork City. His parents were very strong Catholics. There names were Cora and Ferdinand "Al" Alcindor Sr. Kareem was born on April 16, 1947. -
Moving
Kareem moved to a town just north of his old town,New York City, named Inwood.They moved there because it was more convenyet for his father because it was closer to his school. His father was attending a big music shool called, Julliard. -
St.Jude
In the third grade Kareem was enrolled into a Cathlic School named St.Jude. The school was run by a group of nuns. -
Boarding School
In the fourth grade Kareem's parents sent him to a boarding school in Philadelphia. The school's name was Holy Providence. There he was teased and bullied for being an Africian Americian. He thiught the only place he fit in was the basketball court. He felt that way be cause everyone on the team was very tall, as well as him. -
Riot
There was a riot that Jabbar took place in on one summer night. The roit was about a police man shooting a high school student that was an africian americia. The police man said he thought he was armed when he really wasn't. -
UCLA
Jabbar was excepted to UCLA in California. He chose that school because it was far away from home, and he thought he was ready to be on his own. -
Record breaking
Kareem broke the UCLA for most points scored by one player in a game. This was his 1 year on Varsity and he was the only sophomoreson the team. -
returning
Kareem returned to UCLA for his Junior year. -
changing religions
Jabbar had read a few books about religions and decided to change to a different religion. In front of witnesses he completed a cerimony called a shahada. After that Kareem Jabbar was a muslim. -
Last Final Years
Kareem returns for his senior year at UCLA. He was really sad that that was the last year that he could play for UCLA's basketball team. Although his basketball again went undeafeted until the final contest. Kareem was now growing bored of basket ball. -
NCAA
Kareem's basketball team made another big basketball accomplishment. For the third year in a row the UCLA Bruins had won the NCAA championship. Kareem ended his basketball as UCLA's top scorer in history. -
Moving On
Kareem was now thinking about his future and wanted to play pro basketball. He found a team that really wanted hin called the Milwaukee Bucks. After being drafted kareem signed a contract with the team -

New Feelings
In this timespan Kareem has changed his life a lot. When he changed to Muslim he met a nice young lady named Hbiba. He became to like her and sooner or later thay got married. That is not it though, After marrying Habiba he felt so stong about his relgion that he changed his name to his muslim name, Kareem Abdual-Jabber. -
Wisconson
Kareem was now in the NBA so where ever his team went he went. So during the Winter Kareem moved to Wisconson with his team. It was a big change but according to Kareem, it was worth it. -
A New Member
The Bucks drafted a new guy named Oscar Robertson. He wasn't very tall but he was a very good player. His nick name was the Big O'. Since he wasn't very tall as some of the other players his position was to play a guard. -
MVP
Kareem was chosen to be the MVP, most valuable player, of the year. Winning that was great but Kareem was still dissapointed about losing to the Lakers in the championship. -
Starting a Family
Kareem's wife gave birth to their new born daughter named Habiba also. After being dissapointed about losing to the Lakers in the champoiship, Kareem called this a blessing, -
Terrible News
Kareem's teacher that helped him change his relgion to Muslim had had terrible news. He and many of his students had been threatened, even Kareem had been. the theatining people had went to the place where he teaches his students and killed ,any of them. They were intending on killing Kareem's teacher but he wasn't there at the time. Scared that something might haooen to Kareem and hsi family Kareem got police escourts wherever he went. Finally Kareem fled the country and started traveling. -
Movie
Kareem stars in his first movie called, "Game of Death". It is a martial arts film and it also stars his friend, Bruce Lee.
