    A secret plan was formed to remove Caesar and restore the goverment to the Senate. On March 15 44BC caesar was killed. Julius was stabbed to death in the Senate house of Pompey by old friends and allies.

    In 59 BC Julius won an election to become consul. A consul is an offical ruling over foreign lands. The Senate tried to block Julius's hopes of getting more political power so the Senate assigned Julius to the lands that offered him no possibilities for military glory.
