Chapters 1-3
In the first few chapters of this book, Katniss, the main charachter, is taken around the country of Panem, (which is the future Distopian America) to all the 12 districts for a celebration after winning the Hunger Games. I'm not sure yet, but I think something very bad is about to happen to Katniss and her partnering victor, Peeta. -45 pages read -- total: 45 pages -
Chapters 4-6
While on her journey, Katniss witnessed a few citezens being shot and killed for no apparent reason by Government officals, or Peacekeepers. Also, she was threatend by the President to persuade the people of Panem that she and Peeta didn't fight the Capitol, but instead won the games due to love. So, Peeta proposes to Katniss on national television but the president wasn't persuaded. Now I'm pretty sure that some kind of rebellion is going to start in the districts. 45-98, total pages: 52 -
Chapters 7-9
Katniss learns of an uprising in district 8 and wants to hide with her family in the forrest. Then her old friend, Gale gets whipped unconcious by the new head peacekeeper, which is very strict. Gale is severely injured and recovering. Katniss also wants to start an uprising in District 12 instead of hiding but her friends tell her not to. Chapters 10-14
In these chapters, Katniss headed out into the woods to get some food for her family and her mother's patients in which she was caring for at the time. Katniiss came across 2 women from distriict 8. They told her about the uprisings and that they were going to the remains of district 13. Then, Katniss broke her ankle getting back to her house. Finally, for the 75th Hungergames, victors from past years are chosen. Katniss and peete go back to the games. Pgs. 127-192 total: 192 -
Chapters 15-22
Katniss and Peeta started training for the games after they figured out that they'd be going back. Before the games begin Katniss and Peeta try to influence an uprising by telling the world that she's pregnat and going into the games to die. Then, Katniss watches as her stylist gets beat up and taken away by peacekeepers. When the games start, she's allied with Finnick, a young man who saves Peeta's Life, Mags, an 83 year old who can fish well but soon dies, and Peeta. pgs. 193-311 Total: 311 -
Chapters 23-24
After being bombarded with poisonous fog, Katniss, Peeta and Finnick are attacked by visious monkeys, killing a drug adicted women who jumps out of the forrest and saves Peeta. They meet up with another group in the morning and discover the aren is a giant clock which releases a new threat (like the fog) every hour in a different place. Then, a carreer group finds them and kills a woman woman who came up with the idea of the clock.Then, 2 people in the group are killed. pgs. 311-343 total: 343 -
Chapters 25-26
One of Katniss's alies, Brutus, has come up with a plan to kill the other tributes who have been watching them by tying a wire to the tree that gets struck by lightning every 12 hours, then connecting it to the ocean. This will cause any one on the beach or in the water to get electrocuted and I'm excited to see what happens. i think something will go wrong though. Pgs. 344-378 total: 378 -
Chapter 27
Katniss was unwravleing the wire to be placed in the water when her allie knocked her out and cut her arm.When katniss awoke, she went back to the tree to see if Beetee and Peeta were still alive. When she sees Beetee knocked out with a knife tied to the wire in one hand, she realizes that she must destroy the forcefield which prevents escape and shoots the knife through.It explodes when the lightning strikes.A hovercraft picks up her body is taken to District 13 without Peeta. 379-end total 391
