    A ace of people from an island near North Africa dominated by "lotus" plants. The lotus fruits and flowers were the primary food of the island and were narcotic and addictive, causing the people to sleep in peaceful apathy.

    Odysseus and his men were captured by the cyclops Polyphemus. Using trickery, odysseus escaped but was cursed by Posiden who kept him at sea for a long time.

    When Odysseus and his men reach the island of Aeolus, he gave Odysseus the gentle west wind to ride to Ithaca and a bag of the captured bad winds. But on the way back, Odysseus' men opened the bag of bad winds while Odysseus was sleeping blowing them back to Aeolus.

    Odysseus and his men almost got to ithaca because of aeolus' winds. But because Aeolus denied their request for another bag of wind, they were forced to take the long route.

    Laestrygonians
    A tribe of giant cannibals from ancient Greek mythology. Odysseus, visited them during his journey back home to Ithaca. The giants ate many of Odysseus' men and destroyed eleven of his twelve ships by launching rocks from high cliffs. Odysseus' ship was not destroyed as it was hidden in a cove near shore. Everyone on Odysseus' ship survived.

    Land Of Dead
    The Land of the Dead is near the homes of the Cimmerians, who live "shrouded in mist and cloud". Never seeing the sun. Odysseus follows Circe's instructions, digging a trench at the site prescribed and pouring libations of milk, honey, mellow wine, and pure water. He ceremoniously sprinkles barley and then sacrifices a ram and a ewe, the dark blood flowing into the trench to attract the dead.

    For The sirens odysseus told his men to plug their ears with beeswax so their song does not affect them. Odysseus nearly killed himself trying to get to the sirens' song. Odysseus faced both Charibdys and Scylla in Homer's Odyssey while rowing through a narrow channel. He ordered his men to avoid Charibdys thus forcing them to pass near Scylla. This resulted in the deaths of six of his men.

    Though Odysseus warns his men not to, they impiously kill and eat some of the cattle of the Sun. The guardians of the island, Helios' daughters, tell their father, and Helios appeals to Zeus, who destroys the ship with his lightning bolt and kills all the men except for Odysseus.

    Calypso

    Calypso imprisons t Odysseus on her island in order to make him her immortal husband. Calypso kept Odysseus hostage at Ogygia for seven years. Odysseus, however, he wants to return home to his beloved wife Penelope. His patron goddess Athena asks Zeus to order the release of Odysseus from the island, and Zeus compels Calypso to set Odysseus free.
