On Venice Beach where he showed a student and a musician Ray Manzareck some of his poetry and songs he wrote. This gave Ray the idea to start a band with Jim and later on Robby Kreiger there guitarist and their drummer John Densmore joined. The name of the band came from a book Jim read called "The Doors of Peception" -

Jim Morrison's private and public life started to get out of control. Alcoholism and drug addiction started to get worse which started leading towards violents and outbursts onstage which started to make the cops and club owners hate him. "Drugs are a bet with your mind." -Jim Morrison -
The Doors go on the Ed Sullivan Show.
September 17, 1967 The Doors preformed the song "Light my FIre" on the Ed Sullivan show and were told not to say the line "girl we couldn't get much higher" while on air due to drug reasons but they said it anyway and were banned from the show and that act made him the new Rock n Roll rebel hero for the public. -
Incident in New Haven.
On December 8, 1967 Jim Morrison was in New Haven, Cnnecticut Jim Morrison was drunk, High and was behind stage before a show when a police approached him and didnt notice who he was. When theofficer told he he had to go Morrison denied and the police officer maced him. He stormed onstage and told his story to the adience and started. a riot and was charged with obscenity charges and was arrested. -

March 1, 1969 Jim Morrison was at the Dinner Key Auditorium in Coconut Crove in Florida when he got naked in front of thirteen thousand fans. This got him a warrent for his arrest and he later on turned himself in. -
The Death of Jim Morrison.
On July 3, 1971 at the age of 27 Jim Morrison died in his bathtub due to hear failure. There is a conspiracy around his death saying
he died of a heroin overdose at Sam Burnetts club and was carried back which he wrote in his book.
