  • Jesse is Born

    Jesse Woodson James was born in Kearney, Missouri. Jesse had two full siblings, Alexander "Frank" James, and Susan Lavenia James.
  • Jesse's Younger Life

    Jesse and his older brother Frank were very well educated, and hailed from a prestigious family of Farmers. His parents, Reverand Robert James, and Zerelda Cole James, were both descendence of large farming families.
  • First Violence

    His family farm was brutally attacked by a group of Union soldiers. Many people belive this is why he fought so brutally against the Union.
  • After the Attack

    Joined the Confederate as a Guerilla fighter with his brother Frank James. He would ride through camps at night and attack every soldier he could see.
  • Death

    Jesse recieved a very life threatening bullet wound in the chest. He was almost killed, but some how survived.
  • After the Civil War

    After recovering from his bullet wound at his uncles cabin, where his first cousin tended to him, he ended up marrying her. Zerelda "Zee" Mimms.
  • The Gang

    After settling down and recovering from his bullet wound with his new wife, Zerelda "Zee" Mimms, he formed a gang with his brother, and some Younger brothers.
  • First Robbery

    The James-Younger gang committed the first ever daylight bank robbery at the County Savings Association in Liberty, Missouri. Then many more Bank and Train robberies, and Stage Coach robberies were made.
  • Their Children

    Jesse and his Wife, Zerelda, had 2 surviving children named Jesse Edward James and Mary Susan James.
  • First National

    The James-Younger gang attemped a robbery on the First National Bank in Northfield, Minnesota. Jesse and Frank James were the only 2 members left alive or uncaptured.
  • The End

    After making so much money off of robberies, and his gang totally annhialted, he turned to the Ford brothers for protection. They moved in with him. It was a really hot day, and when he took off his coat and firearms, and stood up to dust off a picture, Robert Ford shot him twice in the back of the head. Collecting the bounty of $5,000.
