Hardship
I had eye surgery when I was 1 1/2 years old. I had fell off a slide and hit my eye on the edge of the slide. I also had to have surgery on it because I also had a tear blockage. This relates to Laurence because he was always just being a spectator and bystander. This was a hardship for him because he wanted to be involved and not left out of activities. -

Denying True Self
When I was younger I did cheer because my best friend at the time was doing it. I knew it wasn't the thing for me but I did it anyway. Laurence denied his true self when he tried to play sports with his dad even though he knew he couldn't. -
Denying True Self
This was another activity that I did just because most of my friends were doing it. I knew I never liked dance and I wouldn't even ever consider it. This connects to Laurence because when he tried to learn the sports his dad was teaching him but he never could because his asthma would get in the way. -

When I was younger i played t-ball and baseball and I loved it. So I eventually moved on to softball because I thought I would like it even more. This relates to Laurence because he also tried sports with his dad. -

I grew up in a baptist family and always went to church. Soon later I got saved. This relates to Laurence because he grew up with sports because his dad and brother did them just like I grew up in church. -
Hardship
On this day, my great grandma passed away. She was a very important person in my life. She was the person I played games with when no one else was around. This is relevant to Laurence because having having asthma was a hardship for him because he wasn't able to play sports with his father, and didn't fit in well. -

In 5th grade we had to vote for superlatives. I won best smile. I was really happy I won this. This connects to Laurence because he was the only person to help his dad with the rat hunt. -
Searching for true self
After I started played softball for awhile i figured I would try catching. The first time I caught I really liked it so I kept playing that position. This connects to Laurence because he tried to see if he was good at something when he was on the rat hunt with his dad. -
