    Before Nissei were automatically Japanese citizens because of their ancestory, but after that date, Issei parents had to register their children in Japan if they desired such dual citizenship. Most parents did not make the effort. This relates to the essentail question because the Nissei were put in it even though they were technically American.

    The Americans were suspicious when the Japenese bombed them because their heritage is from Japan and they were wondering why they would bomb them. This relates to the Essential quesiton because the Americans were suspicious with the Japenese.

    Adults worried about packing appropriate clothes for their families. Also, adults worried about disposing of household goods they could not take along. This relates to the Essential question because if they went to the mountains, winter clothing would be a necessity. In warmer weather, heavy sweaters and coats would take up valuable space. Also, Most people were not wealthy, but the majority had a car or a truck and a houseful of furniture.

    Finding homes for family pets was also a difficult task. Families sometmes left their animals with friends. Also, once the journey into the unknown began, the atmosphere became less friendly. This relates to the Essential question because for the Internament camps they couldn't bring their pets and they couldn't pack as many things. So, it was probably hard finding homes for their pets.
