    Japan was under the absolute rule of the Tenno Emperor system. The Japanese people had no democratic rights. Japan became aggressive against other Asian countries and expanded colonial rule. It was the only political party in Japan that fought against the Wars of Aggression.

    Universal Male Suffrage
    Universal adult male suffrage for those over 25 was introduced in 1925. It also increased the electorite from 3.3 to 12.5 million. Under the reviesd bill, the demand require all voters to pay taxes was dropped.

    Manchurian was killed due to the fact that he was trying to lessen Japan's political influence in Manchuria. The officers of the Kwangtung army did not approve of this so they murdered Manchurian to dapen Nationalist enthusiasm.

  • The Marco Polo Bridge Incident

    The Marco Polo Bridge Incident
    Japanese soldiers provoked local Chinese soldiers into a fight on the Marco Polo bridge near Beijing. Claming that the Chinese started shooting first, the Japanese attacked their bases around Bejing and then occupied the city. Japan's attack on Beijing was followed by a full-scale invasion of China.

    Japan was chasing chinese forces who had many boats. The Panay was with three oil tankers and the Panay was hit with two of the eighteen bombs dropped by the Japanese. The Japanese didn't know the Panay was an American ship. They said they were going after a Chinese ship.
