  • Alfred Nobel

    Nobel made many different types of explosives and safety features for the explosives. He created a detonator that used strong electric shocks instead of heat. He also made dynamite Nobel left his fortune to award prizes (Nobel Prize) for people who made advancements in Physics, Chemistry, Physiology/Medicine, Literature, and Peace.
  • Christopher Latham Sholes

    Christopher Latham Sholes made the first Typewriter in 1867. Christopher Sholes was a former Milwaukee Sentinel Printer and editor. In 1864 he and a friend were given a patent for a page numbering machine for the newspaper. Inventor Carlos Glidden suggested they should rework the machine to type letter too. Sholes was so attached to the idea that he devoted the rest of his life to the project. With this new invention the writers could now make the newspapers and make more money
  • Electric iron

    Henry W. Seeley created the Electric iron in the year 1882 in New York. He created it because the original iron was really dangerous to heat up. The new one wasn't as dangerous.
  • Fountin Pen Feeder

    Lewis E Waterman a former New York insurence Broker created the water pen feeder because he had the chance to get the biggest contracts and he had gotten a brand new pen but when the person went to sign the contract the ink from the pen spilled all over the contract. He went to get a new contract but a competitor signed it before Waterman had the chance. This new pen would have to be dipped less and the pen would have a steady flow of ink. His ink feeder was the start for the current ink feeder.
