On July 22, 2003, the 101st Airborne Division and soldiers from Task Force 20 killed Suddam's two sons and his grandchildren.

In 2003, Suddam Hussein was captured. They found him in a very small bunker, one that was hardly big enough for him to lie down in. He was breathing through an air vent and extractor fan. When he was found, he gave himself up without resistance.

Iraqi insurgents ambushed a Blackwater USA Convoy. Four contractors were killed by grenades and small fire, their bodies were dragged, beaten, burned, and their bodies hanged from a bridge crossing the Euphrates.

This battle lasted for a total of 46 days, it was called the Second Battle of Fallujah. 95 American soldiers were killed, civilian casualties were low, because many of them fled before the battle took place.

This was an attack on US forces at Abu Graib prison. This consisted of heavy rocket fire, insurgents were armed with grenades and small fire, and vehicles were loaded with explosive devises. The U.S.' ammunition/weapons ran so low that they had to result to hand-to-hand fighting. This was considered the largest coordinated assult on the US since the Vietnam War.

On Febuary 22, 2006, a bomb exploded at Mosque, one of the holiest sites at Shi'a Islam. It was believed to be planted by Al Qaeda. Nobody nearby was harmed, but the mosque was badly damaged, which resulted in violence. Over 100 bodies with bullet holes were found the very next day, and a total of 165 people were believed to have been killed.

Saddam was hanged on Dec 30, 2006. He was guilty of crimes against humanity after a year-long trial.
