    The Zimmerman Telegraph was sent by Germans to the United States threatening us that if we joined the war Mexico would join with Germany. This was a hug threat to us because we would be opposing Germany, but Mexico is right below us so the war could come on our own soil.

    On this day, more than 3,000 Navy men were killed on our own soil. Japanese air pilots bombed ships and houses in Pearl Harbor which is in Hawaii. Pearl Harbor was where most of our Navy was held before they left for battle. This event led to the US's involvement in the war.

    This date was the first day of the battle of the bulge in Germany. our fources were almost completely surrounded by German forces. They could have killed all of us. The bulge helped us win because the men in the little bulge helped distract as others moved south to escape the enclosement. It ended on January 25, 1945.

    La Drang was the first big battle and it taught both the US and Vietnam what this war was going to be like. They won towards the bgining, but we fought until the end and won.

    US troops invaded a village and killed hundreds of innocent people. Not only did they kill them they tortured them, cut them up, raped them, burnt their houses, and took their body's apart. We did not find out about this incident for a couple years, but when it came out everybody was enraged.

    Battle that took place on Hill 937 in the A Shau Valley. It was one of the most horrific battels in Vietnam. We won the hill over, but soon after we gave it up. This action greatly prompted increase in support of the war.

    Begining of Woodstock
    A festival held in Bethel, NY was expected to have only 150,000 people but it ended up being about tripple that, and the concerts became free. It was 3-4 days long with that many people. There was complete peace in the biggest city for that weekend. It taught the country we can work together and love each other.

    College students at Kent State were protesting the war one day, and things escaladed quickly. This lead to the national guard firing into a crowd of people. Four people were killed;9 wounded, and some didnt event go to the school.

    At Jackson State College there was a shooting by policemen. There were students protesting into the night, and around midnight the police open fired into the crowd and killing two African Americans.
