Importance: He had CTE in his brain and he was such a young player. "His young age prompted concern over how quickly athletes start to suffer from CTE."

    Description: Junior Seau took his own life in May of 2012 after being retired from the NFL for 2 years. He suffered the same type of brain damage that so many deceased NFL players had. He was confirmed to have CTE in his brain. It resulted in a lot of head-to-head collisions over the course of his 20 year career. Importance: So many head-to-head collisions cause head trauma which leads to CTE. In some cases, like this one, CTE tends to cause a player to take their own life.

He once got a concussion and did not get treated.

The agreement provides $5 miilion dollars per retired player for serious medical problems associated with head trauma. Importance: The concussion problem has been there for a long time. 5000 players are suing the NFL because of that head trauma. Concussions were a problem of the past and now they are a problem as well.

Importance: All injuries in football are common, but concussions are the one injury that is the worst overtime. College players get injured, high school palyers get injured, and NFL players get injured.
