    The Magna Carta

    The Magna Carta
    The Nobels forced King John to sign and agree ment called "The Great Charter" or "The Magna Carta". This Document protected the nobels privileges and authority. It also granted or allowed certain rights to all land holders.
  • Mayflower Compact

    Mayflower Compact
    A written plan of Goverment. Forty rules to govern thereselves. The Colonist that came up with the Mayflower compact started a Direct Democracy. The citizens held there town meetings to adress Town problems

    The Pilgrams were being treated bad so thy left and developed a constitution. It was th First written constitution, and they called for a group of representatives to control the goverment.

    Showed that Parliment was stronger than The king. They replaced King James with his Daughter. They believed that no ruler should have more power than parliment and thats why they replaced King James.

    It Restricted the Monarchs power. It also guranteed free elections to Parlment, The right to a fair trial, and the elimination of cruel and unusual punishment.

    He Supported the Glorius Revolution. He argued that people were born free, equal, and independent He also believed in natural rights to life, liberty, and proerty that no goverment could take away.

    He develped seperation of powers. The Seperation of powers is three seperated branches of goverment that we currently use today.
