    First Radio
    The first radio was created in 1920. It became very popular because anyone could be updated on what was going on in the world through this. By late 1922 there were over 500 radio stations to listen to. By 1930 over 60 percent of the United States owned their own radio.
  • Flapper Women

    Flapper Women
    This was the new breed of women. They pretty much did whatever they wanted, and were rebelious. They listened to jazz music, wore "tiny" skirts, smoked cigarettes, went out without a man or date, drove cars, and had a casual views on sex.

    Prohibition is the prohibiting of selling, making, owning or having anything to do with alcohol. Started because of women, mostly religious Christian women's temperance union. The women said the the alcohol made their men a danger. Alcohol seemed more easier to get now than ever before. Police were even against prohibition. It seems prohibition made the consumption of alcohol worse

    KKK
    The KKK or The Ku Klux Klan have been known to use terrorism, violence, and lynching to murder and and scare the African Americans, Jews and other minorities. They made a comeback in the 20's with over 4 million members now, many coming from he legislature and congress.

    The Roaring Twenties was also known as The Jazz Age. During this time Jazz music became very popular.Throughout the 1920's many people took an interest in music. They owned pianos, played sheet music, and listened to records.
  • Immigration Act

    There was a law created that limited the amount of immigrants who came from any country that were allowed to be in the United States to 2 percent. They thought that having immigrants in our country after the war was far too risky.
  • St. Valentine's Day Massacre

    St. Valentine's Day Massacre
    On this day in Chicago, Illinois the south side italian gang led by Al Capone shot and killed seven members of the north side irish gang led by Bugs Moran. The men had been lured in by Al Capone's men because two of them were dressed as police officers. This was so huge because it was the biggest massacre any had ever seen. It was said to believe that Moran had stolen booze from Capone. This was just one more reason why prohibition wasn't working out.
