    General P.G.T. Beauregard of the Confederate Army made Geeneral Robert Anderson of the Union Army surrender Fort Sumter after the Confederates shot many times. The Union was outnumbered 2 to 10 as they fought. Genereal Anderson later surrendered the Fort and suprisingly nobody was killed or injered during the battle.

    The Battle of the Monitor and the Merrimack was a naval battle between a northern built design called the Merrimack that had been taken by the Confederates and the other ship called the Monitor. The Monitor lost during a gale of Cape Hatteras but was rediscovered in 1973 and in 2002.

    There was a long prossess to make the 13th Amendment an amendment first it was passed by the senate in April 8, 1864, then by the House on January 31, 1865, then by the President on February 1, 1865, and lastly enough states ratified it in December 6, 1865. The 13th Amendment states that slavery is abolished.
