Important Battles of the Revolution

  • Lexington and Concord

    The British commander in Boston sent troops to seize all of the weapons. Shots were fired, 8 Americans died with many wounded, british continued to concord where they were ambushed + suffered many losses.

  • Bunker Hill

    The british didn’t see the majority of the Americans at the top of the hill so the Americans destroyed the British - victory for America

  • Trenton

    Washington crossed the Delaware river and captured 1,000 hessian soldiers.

  • Battle of Saratoga

    The Americans stand and fight the British and defeat them. This gave French the confidence to help America.

  • Battle of Yorktown

    Cornwallis was forced into a trap at Chesapeake Bay to await supplies. The British find the French navy waiting for them and George Washington’s troop attacking from behind them. The British surrendered and the British government began to consider a peace treaty with the colonists. It’s considered the last major land battle of the American revolution.
