    Ostend Manifesto issued by U.S ministers to Europe. The ministers write up a document that urges the U.S to annex Cuba for the security of slavery, and that if Spain refuses to sell the island, it should be taken by force.
    I think that this is important because though it is not blatant imperialism, it shows the start of the idea of imperalism. The talk of protecting slavery and if cuba needs to be taken to use force shows the U.S will protect it’s money and is willing to do what needs to be done
