Astropithicus authorensis
Astropithicus autherensis means southern ape. And it is nicknamed Lucy. They lived 3-4 million yrs ago, in Africa. Lucy was 3 ft tall and its forehead and jaw stuck out. Lucy was half ape and half human, also her arms were very long, but her hands and feet were like ours today. Though they didn't have any tools that we know of they could gather and carry kids. -

Homo Habilis
Homo Habilis is the homonid known as Handy Man. It lived 1.5 - 2 million yrs ago, in Africa. They also had a large brain and were taller than Lucy.They were called handy man because they were the first homonid to make tools. They made sharp rocks and stone for chopping and cutting and they had bones for digging. they were capable of walking on two feet, they lived in groups, and they used tools for hunting. -
Homo Erectus
Homo Erectus means upright man.they lived 1.8- 200,000 B.C ,in Asia.Their jaw stuck outand they had a thick scull. And they were called upright man because it was the first hominid to stand fully upright, also they a lot taller, thinner, had stronger bones,and had a large brow ridge.They made hand axes and were the first hominid to discover fire. Also they were the first homonid to leave Africa. Itwas a good walker and runner. They even learned to cook, build homes, and they were nomads. -
Homo Sapiens Neanderthals
They lived 230,000- 30,000 yrs ago in Neander valley Germany. They had thick long bones,a ridge above their eyes, a large brain, and they were shorter and much stockier than modern humans. But much much stronger. They had more than 60 different tools, including knives,.scrapers, and spear points. Also this homonid lived and traveled in groups. They even buried their dead. They had doctors for healing and lived while modern humans did. -

Homo Sapien Sapien lived 35-12,000 B.C, in Africa . They were thought to have traveled the world. They had high rounded sculls, large brains, small teeth and slender bones. They made tools for engraving, and sculpting needles.They had shelters of earth and stone. They had better tools, shelter, and clothes for survival.
