Continued emphasis on openness to alterity, i.e. other ways of knowing, being and relating to the world. I would imagine the IB would continue to incorporate questions on how we can come to a mutual understanding with one another and take action on global problems.

With advances in technology, particularly in the fields of artificial intelligence and genetic modification, the IB may choose to focus more on ethical questions related to our responsible use of these new tools.

This is really difficult to answer. I think it’s not entirely impossible that the IB itself might split into competing visions. Whether this is along the lines of science vs. humanities, or is based on different pedagogical philosophies, I think it’s possible that not everyone might be comfortable under the broad umbrella of the IB, especially if current rates of growth continue.
