    First storm to hit Puerto Rico in the 20th century.The storm was mostly experienced in the southwest area hitting Barranquitas ,Caguas and humacao.
  • Tropical storm " San Vicente"

    The center of this tropical storm moved over the north coast of Puerto Rico in westerly direction during the night of september 11th and early morning of september 12th. The strom affected all the crops of Puertoo Rico specialy the citrus.
  • Hurrican " San Liborio "

    Hurrican " San Liborio "
    The strom entered the Caribbean sea by Martinque and strenghtening as it moved in a generally west - northwest heading until making landfall in the southwest of Puerto Rico. The hurricane killed 25 people and many houses were destroyed around the island.

    The Okeechobee Hurricane or San Felipe II hurricane , was a deadly hurricane that struck the Leeward Island ,Puerto Rico, the Bahamas , and Florida .The strom directly struck Puerto Rico at peak strenght , killing at least 300 and leaving hundreds of thousands homeless.

    Claudette was a weak tropical storm that passed over the north coast Puerto Rico in a westward direction .Apperently the storm weakened to tropical depression strenght just before landfall.Claudette never got very much strenght and ended making landfall near Copus Christy , Texas in July 24th.Damage in Puerto Rico was minimal.

    Helene was a long - lived tropical cyclone the oscillated for a ten days between a tropical wave .It was tweltfh tropical cyclone and eighth tropical storm of the 2000 Atlantic hurricane season ,forming on september 15th east of the Windard Islands . After degenarating into a tropical wave ,the system produced flooding and mudsides in Puerto Rico.

    Tropical storm Dean was a strong tropical storm that affected at least twelve islands along its path from the tropical Atlantic Ocean to east of Atlantic Canada . In Puerto Rico rainfall produced widespread flooding across the island. Thousands were left without power or water , and two houses lost their roofs from the storm.

    Hugo was a rare but powerful Cape Verde -Type hurricane that caused widespread damage and loss of life in the Leeward Island ,Puerto rico, and the southeast of United States. Huricane Hugo passed over Puerto rico as a strong category 3 hurricane.In all, 12 deaths in Puerto Rico are attributed to Hugo , six of which some residents were electrocuted by drowned power lines.

    Hurricane Otto was a moderate category 1 storm that caused widespread damage in portions of the northeastern Carribbean islands.The storm dropped heavy rainfall in the northern Leeward islands , the Virgin islands and Puerto Rico for several days , trigging widespread flooding and several mudslides .Severe flooding contaminated water supplies, leaving an estimated 45,000 people without drinking water in the wake of the storm.
