He became drunk on the various scents. He looked at himself in a mirror, he became crazy and he went out and danced up and down in front of the married couple. Then he jumped into the fountain, singing like a crazy man.

He is fired because of the crazyness he had on his daugther boss wedding, and Mr Chawla goes crazy and furious. Telling him he his irresponsable and he has to get another job.

Sampath feels bad, mad at his life. Kulfi gives him a guava to taste, looking at the guava, he wishes he could have its quiet that was beautiful. He didn't need any more than just the guava, it gave him happines, sweetness and most of all freedom.

As pinky couldn't travell in bycicle with her brother Sampath, she got on the bus and as she was scared that someone behave bad towards her, she grab a pin hair and if someone did something that she didn't like she would stuck the pin hair to him/her,
A man winked Pinky so she got furious and finally stuck the pin hair to the man. -
When his family is gone the next day, Sampath runs away, catching a bus. He goes far away, and he sees a Guava tree and goes off the bus.

He climbs the tree and he settles in. Sampath feels peaceful. Life is sweet and uncomplicated. He feels at home and falls asleep in the branches.

They find Sampath in the tree, eating a guava. Sampath thinks of excuses, but in the end says nothing. His mother alone seems to understand why he is in the tree

The family calls in Dr. Banerjee from the bazaar clinic, who tries to get Sampath to come down, but Sampath is afraid of being locked up for being insane. Sampath started talking about his need of getting married.

The bride, her family, and the pilgrims arrive at the tree. While Sampath has romantic fantasies about beautiful women, he is horrified by the ugly girl. When she tries to touch Sampath's feet he yells, and she falls out of the tree.

The Chawla family go to the police to search for their son, and the whole town makes the most of the drama. The watchman of the university forest reserve bicycles into Shahkot and announces there is a man in a guava tree who won't come down. Mr. Chawla feels sure it is Sampath, and the family catches the bus and gets off at the old orchard

As Sampath lie to people with their secrets by reading the letters, as he knows everything people thought that he might have divine powers. Soon a newspaper article proclaims him to be a holy man in a tree.

As sampath lied to people, Mr. Chawla thought that by his lies the family might be rich by paying Sampath for telling people their future by thing that he knew. Sampath enjoys his new position of power, and is in great humor. When he is tired of the questions, he finished his day and goes to sleep.

Kulfi, totally inspired by her son, begins cooking masterpieces in the orchard in her outdoor kitchen. She too likes the freedom of being in the forest. Sampath grows fat, excited by the exotic food cooked only for him.

Mr. Chawla is on leave from his regular job and has plans of getting rich managing the pilgrim trade to his son's tree

On a trip to town to buy Ammaji new dentures, a monkey attacked Ammaji after buying ice cream after seeing a movie. When Ammaji takes a bite of ice cream, her dentures stick in the cone, the cone drops, and the monkey runs off with it.

Sampath is charmed by the visitors who ask him questions on the nature of life. But some of Sampath's answers make sense and some didin't , but they have the ring of truth, so people were satisfied.

Pinky started yelling because she saw the monkey that was following her in the bazaar. But after a while a bunch of mokeys started to appear, and kept following her beside her imagination

The cinema monkey started to get full of habitants of Shakhot doing visits because of Sampath visits there too.
When the monkeys arrived at the Cinema started looking at Sampath, but when they got distracted Sampath started to provoke them and starting calling them, and he push them. By this action he realize that the monkeys were not a threat. -
Miss Jyotsna started to get charmed by the monkeys. She started to describe them as she loved them by saying things like "Think of all those shams" and "all those crooks posing in their saffron"

There was a tiny discussion because of the reactions that the monkeys had, some of them thought that they were strange because of the full moon. But when Mr. Chawla saw the Bottle of ram it all made sense for him

They felt a fantastic sensation with this. The alcohol made them get crazy. They were totally obssesed.
The bananas and peanuts didn't mean nothing to them now.
With time, they started to drink other things, like beer or whisky.
They were obssesed, searching and searching for more alcohol everywere. -
After a month of their appearence in the orchard, the monkeys started to drink five bottles of rum by rifling a man's bag. The monkeys and Sampath led to have a "siesta" on Sampath's tree. Sampath started to make shapes of spiders, and he started to remember how he used to hate them in his life in Shakhot

Mr. Chawla thought that the monkeys being on Sampath's tree was a risk of disruption.

He started to get angry because, he thougth that the monkeys were taking over his tree and "work". He thought his son had to learn more things, and not be all day making up stories to tell people
