On a hot, humid night, Sampath, unable to sleep due to his family's snoring, decides to take a night walk throught Shahkot, even though he knows he will be sleepy the next day at work.

After a discussion with his father for his career prospects and an embarrasing situation with her sister, Sampath reaches the post officefor another day of work. Of course, he achieves none of his duties but reads lots and lots of letters and postcards that arrived to the post ofice.
