A Peoples History of the United States - Howard Zinn
This book opened my eyes like no other book ever has. It's what lead me to study history and politics. -
Native Universe - Voices of Indian America
This book was a great tool for learning about the Native Americans prior to European contact. -
The Historical Atlas of Native Americans
I read this book during and after the previous book and I still use it today. It's a great resource for locations and travel patterns of native tribes. -
A Power governments cannot suppress - Howard Zinn
Another Christmas book - I wanted another Howard Zinn book and I chose this book because it was highly rated. Another eye opening and very powerful book full of primary sources. -
Understanding Power - The Indispensible Chomsky
This book was unlike any book I've ever read as it was an answer and question conference with Noam Chomsky in front of a live audience asking questions. It was unscripted, there is no editing, and it is a word-for-word transcript of Chomsky explaining media influence and influence they have in politics. -
Profit Over People - Chomsky
Like Howard Zinn, I wanted to read another Chomsky book and I chose this one from a recommendation i had from a college Professor I had. It's an amazing take on how our economic and political system are both broken. -
Introduction to American Politics
This was my first book on politics and really broke down the way the United States government functions. -
The Small Nation Solution
This book was on the state of our planet as a whole, and what can be done to change it for the better. -
The Kennedy Half Century
I got this book for Christmas - Being a history major I'm always asked who my favorite President is, this book is the reason why I answer Kennedy. It also made me want to learn more about politics. -
American Government - Institutions and Policies
This book is basically an extension of the previous American politics book I read in 2013, but this book breaks down the process of the government more extensively.
