How America became a world power.

  • United States delcares war on spain

    The war lasted 113 days. The United states won. Before war Spain was the world power but afterword Ameria came out as the world power.

  • Treaty of Paris, America Expands

    Because of this treaty the U.S got control of Guam and Puerto Rico. Also the U.S paid to gain control of the Philippines. Lastly America gained Hawaii, Samoa and some other islands so they were able to make militaty bases around the world.

  • The Great Depression

    The stock market crashed leaving people destitute and without Jobs and America fell economically and was no longer a world power.

  • Roosevlelt inaugurated, Beginning of the New Deal program

    After Rooselvelt became president he starte what was called the New Deal program which helped America back on it's feet. It didn't completly heal the country but it was a big start that helped America get it's power back.

  • World War 2

    From the beginning of the war till 1941 America did not fight in the war but produced supplies for Europe which made the U.S economically strong again after the Great Depression.

  • World War 2 Ends, America superpower

    After the war ended America had many atomic weapons and knew how to make them. This made America very powerful. America could produce as much as the rest of the world combined making America one of the worlds superpowers.
