    The Boston Massacre
    5 American colonists were shot by British troops, the colonists were shot because there was a large mob of patriots with sticks, stones, and snowballs. This massacre only increased tension between the two sides.
  • The Boston Tea Party

    The Boston Tea Party
    American colonists were starting to get angered by the increasing taxes, a group of disguised colonists called themselves the Sons of Liberty dumped 342 crates of british tea into the Boston harbor.
  • George Washington

    George Washington
    George Washington would eventually become the first president of the United States, but during the Revolutionary War, Washington was the commander of the Continental army. Washington was very influencal to the outcome of the war because his great strategies and his charisma helped the United States to defeat Great Britain
  • Declaration of Independence signed

    Declaration of Independence signed
    The Declartion of independence announced the American Colonies independece from the British. This document was signed by many of the best American minds at the time, including John Adams, John Hancock, and Samuel Adams.

    Thomas Jefferson was the Author of the Declaration of Independence and would become the third president of the United States. Thomas Jefferson was crucial to the outcome of the Revolutionary war because he was able to write the demands of the colonists and was also able to to right many bills and acts such as the Religious freedom bill.

    The American Long Rifle was a rifle that was more accurate than the rifles previously used in the American Revolution. This rrifle was different because it had spiral grooves or rifling in the barrel that spun the ball making it accurate at longer ranges. This rifle allowed the American colonists to "snipe" at the British troops from longer distances.

    Valley Forge was the location of an American Military camp, this camp was crucial to the outcome of the revolutionary war because it was at Valley Forge that Von Steuben helped train US troops to be better prepared against the British forces.

    Von Steuben
    Von Steuben was a member of the Prussian army before he came to the Americas to help Washinton defeat the British. Like Washington Von Steuben helped the American army to regain its footing against the British Forces, Von Steuben helped the Americans by training soldiers that would go on to train the rest of their brigade.

    American doctors started to infect soldiers with a smaller less dangerous dose of the virus in order to prevent the soldiers from getting the disease again. This advancement in Medicine helped the American forces to combat the disease which helped turn the tide of the war.

    Samuel Adams was a delegate for Massachusetts in the Contintal Congress until 1781. Adams was very influencial in the American Revolution because he proposed a final break from the British, and also signed the Declaration of Independence
