    This timeline is based off the major events in the book Hoot.

  • Roy notices a strange boy running along side the school bus.

  • On a construction lot, someone had yanked all the survey sticks out of the ground.

  • Officer Delinko started to take shifts watching the constuction site. On his first shift he fell asleep. While he was asleep the same person yanked out the survey sticks and filled the holes. Only this time the person sprayed the cop car windows black.

    Officer Delinko was tried that morning because he got up super early.
  • Roy spotted the strange boy again. Except this time he got off and chased him, in order to get off the bus Roy had to punch Dana in the face.

    Dana is the school bus bully.
    Also a strange thing about the boy is that he doesn't have shoes.

  • Roy followed the boy till he got to the golf course because there Roy got hit in the head with a golf ball.

    But Roy did see the boy run through the woods.

  • Roy returned to school and got sent to the principal's office for punching Dana.

    Roy ended up breaking Dana's nose.
    He also got suspened from the bus for 2 weeks instead of getting suspended from school.

  • Beatrice Leep confronts Roy and tells him to stop following the strange boy.

    Beatrice saw Roy run after the kid the day before. She knows this because Roy almost knocked her over trying to get off the bus.

  • Someone took the survey sticks out again and filled the holes. Only this time the person popped the tires to Curly's truck. Also the person put alligators in the port-a-potty.

    Curly is the construction foreman.

  • Roy retraced his footsteps from when he chased the strange boy. He ended up finding the place where the strange boy lived. Except he accidentally released a bag full of cottomouth moccasins. The strange boy found Roy and left him in the middle of the wood

    The strange boy left him in the middle of the woods so that Roy couldn't return to the place where he lived.

  • As punishment for falling asleep on the job Officer Delinko was assigned desk duty for an entire month. That also ment he couldn't work on the case.

    Roy had noticed the boy was barefoot so that's why he went to Mullet Finger's place so that he could give him a pair of shoes.

  • Roy rode his bike to the woods. There he left the bike so he could go through the woods to Mullet Finger's place. Mullet Fingers was gone along with all his stuff. So Roy decided to head home but he realized his bike was stolen so he had to walk home.

    Later he finds out that Beatrice has it.

  • Beatrice made Roy a deal that she would give the shoes to Mullet Fingers. She also then admitted that Mullet Fingers was her step-brother.

    When Roy noticed the boy with no shoes he wanted to give him a pair of his.
  • Roy's bus suspension was ended short. So now he can ride the bus.

  • The property keeps getting messed with. So this time they put a fence around it and they got guard dogs.

  • Someone put snakes in the fence near the dogs. That made the trainer of the dogs take them away.

    The snakes were very poisonous.

  • Curly got a reptile wrangler to come out and collect the snakes. But when he got there the snakes were all gone.

  • Dana captured Roy and started to beat him up in a closet. Then out of nowhere Beatrice saves Roy and hangs Dana to the flagpole by his underwear.

  • Beatrice tells Roy everything about her stepbrother Mullet Fingers Then both Mullet Fingers and Beatrice show Roy the owls.

    The owls live on the constuction site of the Pancake house. Mullet fingers and Beatrice are trying to save the owls.
  • While getting the snakes back Mullet Fingers gets bite by one of the dogs. It gets so bad that Roy and Beatrice take him to the hospital.

    At the hospital Roy tells them that Mullet Finger is him. When everyone shows up worried about Roy, Mullet Fingers is gone.

  • Roy tells his Dad all about the owls and Mullet Fingers.

    He doesn't tell his dad about the snake part. But he tells him everything else.

  • Roy helps Mullet Fingers with his next plan. So Roy goes to Dana's house and gets Dana's attetion by mooning him. Then Roy tricked him into going to the trailer on the construction site.

  • Later that night Dana goes to the trailer and gets tackled by Curly. Dana tells Curly that he is Roy and then runs away. Just so happens Officer Delinko catches Dana and takes him bak to the station.

    P.S Curly has a gun with him for protection. Also they all think that Dana was the one messing with the construction site.

  • Curly realizes his gun is missing. When he goes back to the construction site he finds all the seats to the construction machines gone. Now the construction will be put on hold again.

    Curly ended up finding his gun in the port-a-pottie toliet.

  • Officer Delinko is taken off desk duty and is now working on the case. He questions Dana and realizes that there is no way he would pull a prank like this.

  • Chuckle Muckle is lying to everyone by telling them that the owl holes are abandoned.

    Chuckle Muckle made Curly tell people that there are no owls in the holes.

  • Roy goes to City Hall to take a look at the Pancake House permits. When he gets there the permits are not there.

  • Officer Delinko and Curly are working together to guard the construction site. Officer Delinko spots one of the owls and realizes the damages being done.

    Now Officer Delinko feels conflicted.

  • According to the ads the Pancake House will open as planned.

  • Roy talked to his class about the owls and how the pancake house would kill them. He also told them that he was going to protest opening day if any of them wanted to join.

  • The school kids show up the opening day and help Beatrice and Roy protest. Mullet Fingers managed to fit in one of the owl holes. He also refuses to leave.

    The news reporters also show up.

  • All the kids there link arms and refuse to leave. More news reporters show up, they were swarming the property and published alot of different stories about the protest.

  • In the end all the owls are saved due to the protests and help from Roy's Dad.

    The pancake house never opened due to lack of paperwork.
