FALL ZONE
The fall zone/line was made around the same time the Atlantic Ocean was created which was about 250-450 million years. The fall line was created over a about a 300 million and continuous life span in which the area where the river have eroded away soft rocks faster than old rocks. It marked the limits of river travel and it was the main factor to many of the cities located near it. -

APPALANTION Monuts
The Appalachian mountains were formed roughly 480 million years ago. They were formed by two neighboring oceanic plates that collided and began to sank under the North American plate which was the birth of the Appas.The appalachian mountains are such a large mountain range from canada to southern america they are held to many national parks and such. -

The north carolina valleys were created over 540 million years ago in chain of volcanic islands. Two oceanic plates collided and a combination of forces caused part of the upper plates melt and form molten rock. many of the Valleys that are located in the united states of america can and are used a natural borders. -
Barrier islands
Barrier islands The Barrier islands are roughly 4,000-6,000 year old and they originated in the Holocene Epoch. While still a theory the islands were more than likely formed during and after the first ice age because of the melting of the glaciers and the rapid change in sea level. The landforms did not really affect the area more that the area affected the land forms such as change in sea level, winds, climate, etc. -
River basin
Most of the river and river basins in North Carolina are about 2-6 million years old. most of the river basins that are in north carolina in formed from the neuse river. the river basins gave a water source to the surrounding cities and homes.
