When Stradlater told Holden to write his homework for him while he was out and told him to do something descriptive, so Holden decided to pick to write about his dead brothers baseball glove that was covered with different poems from the inside with green pen. -

Holden gets kicked out of Pencey prep
Right before the school goes into its winter break, Holden manages to get kicked out of Pencey because he has failed 4 out of 5 of his classes. -

Holden meets Mr. Spencer
Right before Holden leaves for New York, he drops by to see his favorite history teacher Mr. Spencer. As he walked in, Mr. Spencer lectured him about his latest test/exam that he had recently and told him about how bad he had did on it. As he couldn't take it anymore Holden finally left. -

Stradlater beats up Holden
Before Holden officially leaves the school, Stradlater had just came back from a date with Jane Gallagher and read the paper that Holden had written for him. He hated it in which made Holden tear up the paper in mad and aggression. So to get Stradlater mad even more, Holden lit a cigarette in which Stradlater hates. Later on Holden tries to punch Stradlater but misses in which causes Stradlater to pin Holden down and began to punch him until he shut up! -

The New York hotel
When Holden first gets to New York, he checks himself into the Edmonton hotel. He meets the elevator operator who then suddenly offers him a 5 dollar prostitute in which Holden mysteriously accepts the offer. He meets up with Sunny but he doesn't want to do what she was being payed for but instead just to talk. -

The nuns
Holden decides to have breakfast with two nuns in which he finally has a good conversation with them for the first time in a long while. He even donated money to them even though the nuns didn't Ask for any donations during the time. The nuns were very kind and grateful towards Holden in which was possibly some of the very few times that Holden is happy. -

The date with Sally
As Holden arranged a date with Sally who he actually he didn't like that much, she ended up coming 10 minutes late. In which Holden almost already forgives her because of how pretty she looked that night. They went to a movie and Holden quickly became annoyed with the actors, so afterwards they both went to an ice rink, until Sally was taken by another boy on the rink. -

Holden meets Phoebe
As Holden finally got the courage to go to his parents house, he swiftly sneaked around the apartment to his baby sisters room Phoebe. They both talk for awhile and they both talk about the last couple of days. In which she finally finds out that Holden had gotten kicked out of yet another school. -

The museum
Holden finally goes somewhere he loves to see, and that is the National Museum. He only likes because he knows that nothing will and has never changed inside each and ever exhibit inside the two floor building.
