  • Humble beginnings

    The baseball program begins when a group of students come together to form a campus club
  • First contest

    The new club, which was called the Mendotas, plays the Capital City Club in the first game in its history, a 53-18 victory.
  • Athletic Association begins at UW

    Baseball merges with the football and tennis associations and the boat club to form the first University Athletic Association. Before this move, there had been four years of the previous 11 where the baseball club hadn't fielded a team.
  • A regular competitor

    Wisconsin did not field a team during the 1906 season, but that would be the only year of the next 85 where that would happen.
  • On the Road

    The Badgers' baseball team becomes the first UW sports team to travel a great deal.Wisconsin went on the road to play nine games against some of the best team in Japan, winning five of them while covering 13,500 miles in 74 days.
  • An Art of Winning

    Art Mansfield becomes the head coach of the Wisconsin baseball team. He would go on to win 441 games in his 31 years at the helm of the Badgers.
  • Off to Omaha

    With a 4-1 win over Ohio State, Wisconsin qualifies for the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska. The Badgers got eliminated by Rutgers but finished fourth overall with a 19-9 season record.
  • Badgers take on the Brewers

    The Badgers fall to the Milwaukee Brewers 6-0 in a game that lasted only 4-1/2 innings because of rain. It marked the first contest Wisconsin had played against a Major League ball club.
  • The Best Yet

    Wisconsin sets a record for most wins in a season when it finishes with a 31-17 overall record and 13-5 mark in Big Ten play.
  • Postseason bound at last

    Wisconsin reels off 18 wins in its last 22 games to qualify for the postseason for the first time since going to the College World series some 36 years before in 1950. The Badgers set a new record for victories in a season with 35.
  • Baseball no more

    The University of Wisconsin's athletic board turned down pleas from student-athletes and voted to drop baseball, along with four other sports, to try close a $1.9 million budget deficit.
  • Baseball is back

    Baseball is back
    After an eight-year hiatus, students organize to bring baseball back to Wisconsin campus.The club team will last until the present day and former player Jeff Block will go on to become head coach.
