    The first home console of gaming made and released with pong. It did very well and sold over 30 million worldwide. Later that year arcades began to become more and more popular.

  • Playing in Public

    Arcades were at the biggest point at this point of the year. The fact they only cost a quarter and how many choices of games you could play brought more attention to them. This was know as the golden age of gaming.

  • NES

    NES
    Nintendo, one of the most successful gaming companies, released their own console called the NES or Nintendo entertainment system. They sold it with one of the now most know series, Super Mario Bros. It setup a new standards for games.

  • Gaming on go

    Nintendo release the first ever handheld consoles called the 'Game Boy'. It was able to let people play their favorite games when ever where ever. They sold over 118 million units of them.

  • Sony's Entertainment

    Sony's Entertainment
    A company from japan know as Sony came out with their own console called the PlayStation. It was a new competition for Nintendo. It made more and more people get into gaming.

  • Microsoft

    Microsoft
    The company well know for making windows made their first console. The Xbox was made to go against the PlayStation. For then on Microsoft also made consoles along side Sony and Nintendo.

  • Wireless Gaming

    Wireless Gaming
    Sony released the PlayStation 3 which came with rechargeable wireless controls. This was the first time the control didn't have to be hook up to the system. The control also was able to tell which way it was pointing.

  • Playing with motion

    Nintendo came out with their newest console the Wii. With the Wii people were able to play the game with motion controls. The game would follow the movement of the players hand.
