First ever telephone
In the 1870s, Elisha Gray and Alexander Bell both designed Their owns devices that could transmit speech electrically. Both men brought their newly furnished designs to the patent office within hours of each other. Bell patented his phone first. Gray and Bell then got into a famous legal battle over the custody of the invention of the telephone, Bell won. -
Phone Service
Transcontinental service by overhead wire was invented in 1915 -
The Candelstick Phone
The candlestick was separated into two pieces. The mouth piece formed the candlestick part, and the receiver was placed by your ear during the phone call. -
Rotary Phone
The rotary phone had a dial that you would rotate to the number you wanted. After the dial rotated to one number it would go back to the beginning and you would click another number. It would repeat these steps until you dialed the whole phone number. Good luck if you got the number wrong. -
The Age of the Push-button
AT&T introduced Touch-Tone, which allowed phones to use a keypad to dial numbers and make phone calls. Each key would transmit a different function, signaling to the telephone operator which number you wanted to call. -
Portable Phones
Portable, or cordless, phones were the phone equivalent of the TV remote. You were no longer physically attached to your phone's base station. -
Nokia 5110
These new Nokia candy bar -style phones had the new and improved long battery life. But most important of all, you could play Snake on its 47 by 84 pixel screen.The 5110 was also customizable, with the replaceable face plates. -
Motorola RAZR
The Motorola RAZR was the "perfect" flip phone design. At just 0.54 inches thin, the RAZR was used as a fashion device as well as cell phone.This phone had a keypad, was wireless, and could fit in your pocket. -
Iphone
In 2007, Apple brought I phones to the masses. This new and improved i phone came with touchscreen, intelligent sensors, and sleek design. This i phones made a new way to be lazy by the copy-and-paste feature. The I phone consistently improved. -
Iphone 7
This new futuristic I phone has a fingerprint for a password. Apple's I phone 7 has a new and improved streaky, glossy look. With this new device, no need for string headphones, they have new wireless headphones. Their stereo, battery, and home button has improved. The new I phone 7 is now water resistant.
