    zaccharias jassen and his son Hans invented the compound microscope. The compound microscope allows light to go through the spicimen and uses 2 lenses to form an image.

  • First person to use the word "Cells"

    Robert hooke discovered "cells" by using a crude microscope to obser a thin piece of cork

  • Found a way to make lenses better

    Anton Van Leeuwenhoek found a way to make the lenses of a microscope better by grinding it. He was known as the "Father of microscopy"
