  • Iranian Hostage Crisis

    Iranian Hostage Crisis
    On November 4th, 1979 radical Iranian students storrmed the U.S. Embassy and captured and held hostage 66 U.S. citizens, in the Iranian capital of Tehran. The students reason for taking over the Embassy was that the U.S. President at the time, Jimmy Carter, had allowed Iran's loathed former president, Shah Reza Pahlavi, into the U.S. for medical care. Iranians believed that the actions of the U.S. were the first step in a plan to restore Shah's power in Iran.
  • Beirut Barracks Bombing

    Beirut Barracks Bombing
    Terrorists hijacked a water delivery truck on its way to the Beirut International Airport Marine barracks and sent another identical truck in its place. The suicide bomber was on the "muslim side of the lebanese Civil War, and hated U.S. support of the other side. He drove straight into the four-story barracks where U.S. troops from a U.N. peacekeeping mission slept. The terrorist detinated the bomb killing 241 U.S. service members. The Organization Islamic Jihad later admitted to the bombings.
  • Lockerbie (Pan Am flight 103) Bombing

    Lockerbie (Pan Am flight 103) Bombing
    Pan Am Flight 103 was headed from London's Heathrow International Airport to New York Kennedy International Airport, when it exploded over Lockerbie, Scotland, killing all 259 passengers on board, as well as 11 on the ground. Investigators determined that Semtex. a plastic explosive, caused the disasterous explosion. The explosives were wired to a device that measured barometric pressure, and were packed into the suitcases of the passengers, Two Libyan suspects were eventually convicted.
  • World Trade Center Bombing

    World Trade Center Bombing
    Due to Iraq and other countries hatred for Americans & our way of life, a car bomb exploded in the parking garage beneath the North tower of the World Trade Center. The bomb left approx. an 100 ft. crater that was several stories deep. The bomb killed six people and injured nearly 1,000. Ramzi Yousef was the leader behind the attack & was captured in Pakistan, taken back to America, & convicted along with the van driver, and Eyad Ismoil. A seventh plotter, Abdul Yasin, has yet to be found.

    Oklahoma City Bombing (1995)
    Timothy McVeigh, along with fellow army veteran Terry Nichols, created a plan to destroy the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City because they despised the federal government and claimed they were an "evil force". McVeigh pulled up in front of the 20 year old building with many explosives in his car, He walked away and watched it explode. The explosion killed 168 people. McVeigh was executed by lethal injection at the Federal Penitentiary at Terre Haute, Ind. on June 11, 2001.

    The Second Intifada began in September of 2000 following then leader of Israel Ariel Sharon's visit to Haram al-Sharif. Since the site is sacred in both the Islamic & Jewish religions, the two cultures have fought over it for a long time. The day after the provacation of the Palistinians demonstrators gathered around the al-Aqsa mosque threw stones at Jewish worshippers. Israeli security then fired live ammunition into the crowd. More protest followed, In 2005 they reached a cease fire agreement
  • 9/11 Attacks

    9/11 Attacks
    Terrorists hijacked four commercial jet planes and attempted to fly them into several U.S. targets. One of the planes, American Airlines Flight 11, crashed into Tower One of the World Trade Center, followed by United Airlines Flight 175 which crashed into tower two. Both towers eventually collapsed killing about 3,000 people. Al Qaeda was the group responsible fo the attack, Osama Bin Laden was the leader.     London Bombings (2005)
    On the morning of Thursday, 7 July 2005, four Islamic homegrown terrorists detonated four bombs on London Underground trains across the city and then later, a fourth on a double-decker bus in Tavistock Square. Fifty-two people, as well as the four bombers, were killed in the attacks, and over 700 more were injured. The ringleader of the attacks was Mohammed Siddique Khan made a video message in claiming thar British foreign policy was oppressing Muslims. Al-Qaeda admitted to the bombings.

    Times Square Bombing Attempt
    A car bomb made from gasoline, propane, firecrackers and alarm clocks was discovered in a smoking Nissan Pathfinder in Times Square on May 1, 2010. The device thankfully did not explode, and left clues. Law enforcement tracked down a naturalized U.S. citizen from Pakistan namedFaisal Shahzad, who was taken from a Dubai-bound airliner at John F. Kennedy International Airport. Officials say the Pakistani Taliban played a role in the failed attempt at a mass killing.
  • USS Cole Bombing

    USS Cole Bombing
    The USS Cole was in Aden harbor for a routine fuel stop when 17 people were killed and 39 were injured due to the attack on the American guided missile destroyer, the USS Cole, in Yemen. The attack was orchestrated by the terriorist group Al-Qaeda, The reason for the attack was that the radical muslim groups twisted ideas about religon and the American way of life have caused an extreme hatred towards Americans to the point where they will use any means neccesary to take us down.
