The IASE has brought world wide attention and awareness to special educationa needs. IASE has improved communication among countries and has has allowed for professional educators and researchers to discuss concepts and scientific analysis from differnt parts of the world.

Chicago hosted the very first Disability Pride Parade. This parade was intended to change the way others view people with disabilities. Almost 2,000 people participated.
