One Lunar Module was called Eagle that Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin While The other one circled the moon in orbit called Columbia Which had Which had Micheal Collins in it. This is important becaus this puts in thwe lead for the space race. -
Apollo 11
Neil Armstron and Buzz Aldin were on this flight and landed on the moon for the first time ever in history. Neil Armstrong Said " One small step for man, One giant step for Mankind. This helps us in the space race because we get on the moon and beat the Soviets to the moon so they get ahead in the race. -
Apollo 13
Jack Swigert, Ken Mattingly, and Jim Lovell did not make it to the moon but did make it home safley. This helps our race to space because they can fix the problems for next time they go.
