The Chargers used their #1 pick on Quarterback Eli Manning, who stated earlier that he did not want to go to San Diego. After looking awkward and displeased on stage when he was drafted, the New York Giants decided to draft Quarterback Philip Rivers and trade him for Eli. This is one of the most famous events in draft history. Both QBs still play for their respective teams. -

After having an 8 point lead in the 4th quarter, the New England Patriots rallied back to tie and eventually win after a fumbled interception by Marlon Mccree that would have sealed the game for the Chargers. Ladainain Tomlinson rushed for 123 yards. -
