    Hall of Fame runningback Ladainain Tomlison is drafted with the 5th pick in the 2001 NFL draft.
  • Draft Night

    The Chargers used their #1 pick on Quarterback Eli Manning, who stated earlier that he did not want to go to San Diego. After looking awkward and displeased on stage when he was drafted, the New York Giants decided to draft Quarterback Philip Rivers and trade him for Eli. This is one of the most famous events in draft history. Both QBs still play for their respective teams.

    The Chargers make the playoofs for the first time in 9 years, only to lose in the first round in overtime, due to a missed 40 yard field goal
  • Devastating Championship Loss

    After having an 8 point lead in the 4th quarter, the New England Patriots rallied back to tie and eventually win after a fumbled interception by Marlon Mccree that would have sealed the game for the Chargers. Ladainain Tomlinson rushed for 123 yards.
  • Divisional Loss

    The Chargers, again, lose to the Patriots, who were undefeated at the time, by a score of 21-12. Ladain Tomlinson was injured and Philip Rivers played through a torn acl.

    The Chargers lose to the Steelers 23-17 after Ladainain Tomlinson gets injured. The Steelers went on to win the Super Bowl.
  • Ugly WIld Card Loss

    The Chargers were favored to win, but lost to the Jets, 17-14 after the Jets scored 2 4th quarter touchdowns.
