  • Plankulkul programming language

    Plankalkul was designed by Konrad Zuse. Plankalkul was made for engineering purposes. Plankalkul does not stand for anything.
  • The Development of Fortran

    Fortran was developed by John Backus in 1954. It was developed to design programs dealing with numerical computations and scientific computations. The letters in the name stand for formula translating system.
  • MATH-MATIC progaramming language

    MATH-MATIC was developed by Charles Katz. MATH-MATIC was developed to be a updated version of FORTRAN, in other words an improvement of FORTRAN MATH-MATIC does not stand for anything,
  • Lisp programming language

    Lisp was developed by John McCarthy. Lisp was created to do mathematical computations for computer programs. The purpose of Lisp is also very similar to the purpose of Fortran. Lisp does not stand for anything.
  • COBOL programming language

    COBOL was mainly developed and designed by Grace Hopper. It was designed to be a programming language for business applications and systems, for businesses. The term COBOL stands for COmmon Business Oriented Language
  • RPG programmign language

    RPG was developed by IBM. RPG was made to be a Report Program Generator, which replaced the classic punched card system. RPG stands for Report Program Generator.
  • The development of BASIC

    John G. Kemeny and Thomas E. Kurtz developed the BASIC programming language. The BASIC language was developed to allow students in fields that aren't majors in math and/or science to use and learn about computers. BASIC stands for Beginner's All-Purpose Symbolic Instruction Code
  • LOGO programming language

    Logo was developed and designed by Wally Feurzeig and Seymour Papert. Logo was originally made to teach the concepts of Lisp (programming language). Logo does not stand for anything but it means "Thought" in greek.

    The programming language B was developed at Bell Labs. It was mostly the work of Ken Thompson with the help of Dennis Ritchie. The B programming language was basically the BCPL language but just the parts that were needed of the BCPL language became the B programming language. It was originally made to be able to be used on minicomputers at the times.

    Pascal was developed by Niklaus Wirth. Pascal was made to mainly teach students about structured programming. Pascal does not stand for anything
  • C programming language

    The C programming language was originally created by Dennis Ritchie at the At&T bell Labs. The purpose of this language was to be a general-purpose programming languge to be used for everything and anything. The C in C programming language does not stand for anything.
  • ML programming language

    ML was designed by Robin Miner and his partners at the University of Edinburgh. ML's main purpose is to be a general-purpose programming language. ML stands for MetaLanguage.
  • SQL programming language

    SQL was designed by Donald Chamberlain. SQL was made to be a language that can manage data in a relational database management system. SQL stands for Structured Query Language

    The government developed this language The Primary Purpose of this language was to create a programming language that would be the general purpose language. The letters are not an acronym
  • C++ programming language

    This program language developed by Bjarne Stroustrup. It was created to be the primary general purpose language. The C in C++ does not stand for anything,

    Python was designed by Guido van Rossum. Python was created to be a easier and efficient way of reading and programming high-level coding, these codes would generally be for general purpose. Python does not stand for anything.
  • Visual Basic Programming language

    Visual Basic was derived from the BASIC language from microsoft. It was made to be a language that can be more easily learned and useable language. Visual Basic does not stand for anything.
  • Delphi programming language

    The Delphi programming language was developed by Borland. Delphi was mainly developed to have a program that can run under Windows v3.1 and/or Windows '95 Delphi does not stand for anything.
  • Java programming language

    Java was developed by James Gosling at the Sun architecture. Its main purpose was to have a programming language that works on computers of different architecture as long as the computer had JVM (Java Virtual Machine). The name does not stand for anything, It was chosen at random.
  • Javascript programmign language.

    Javascript was developed by Brendon Eich. Javascript was created to allow users to interact with Web based sites. Allow users to do things as such as control the browser, or communicate with the browser. Javascript does not stand for anything. Also, it is not associated with the Java programming language.
  • PHP programming language

    PHP was designed by Ramsus Lerdorf. PHP was made to be a server-side scripting language for web development and general purpose programming. PHP stand for hypertext preprocessor.
